Area 419 Zero Press

I just can't understand why some people get so uptight when they see something that has a high price tag. This saga reminds me of the uproar when the AMP annealer and the AutoTrickler came out. People lost their collective minds when they saw the price. The same with this press.

I must say, I'm interested in this unit. And I just might take the plunge. Yeah, we get it people.....what you do (and only you) makes every new innovation that comes out utter garbage.

Watching the sh1t show that happens every time something like this comes out is entertaining....sort of. V:I:

Agreed that the AMP annealer and the Autotrickler were both innovative products.
I can't think of any induction annealers (that were specifically for reloading) that were around prior to AMP.
Especially brilliant product be because you need not calibrate it (just enter a code).

Autotricker is innovative in that it has the speed (nearly) of a powder thrower and the precision of a trickler built into a highly accurate scale (with some well thought out Blue Tooth software).

This press however not so innovative.
It is a turret style-press, a style that has been made by others (RCBS, Lee, Redding, Lyman, maybe others?) a long time ago.

There is nothing new with this press other than its much prettier on the reloading bench versus the others (and is packaged quite well with that precision cut foam).

Its a forum man... some say "horray" others say "big god-d#mn deal"

Ultimate reloader used to be an awesome channel for reloading insight... but this guy is turning into nothing more than a shill.

Admittedly, some of his shills convinced me to purchase what he was shilling (most recently an AD 120-i with an Autotricker V3 this past spring).

He probably got this press for free from Area 419.... for $1,600 plus tax and delivery in this country is obscene.

This press could not keep up to a progressive like a Dillion in terms of speed.... and the design of a Forster Co-Ax probably provides the same (if not more) level of consistency.

Its got a fancy turret .... but so what.
I can still change out dies in a Forster Co-Ax way faster than Gavin could spin that turret.

If I won a million dollars, I would keep on using my Forester.
If had cash to burn on something "gimmicky" for indulgence, I'd maybe get a 21st Century Hydro Seater and some custom dies for way less than the cost of this press.

I tried watching a few of this guys videos because people hype them up, but they just seem like a sales pitch for whatever product he's reviewing.

I'll just go straight to the manufacturers site if I want the sales pitch.

People are just trying to size up this product, and justify if it's worth the cost or not.

It's not a cheap purchase, and the first thing people look at when they are thinking about dropping a bunch of cash is what sort of functionality and performance that comes with it.

What does it do better then my current press? What functionality and performance does it bring? Is it faster? Are my reloads going to be "better"? What is "better", and will I see that downrange?

To me, it just seems like a luxury item. From what I can gather, there is no real performance gain to be expected versus reloading over my current press such as my Forster Co-ax. There's certainly some nice features to this press, but is it worth the $1000+ price tag? To me, no. I can't justify that expense, especially if it's not going to make a difference downrange.

^^^ This guy gets it ^^^

I don't often (if ever) recall Gavin saying in any of his videos " XYZ is great value for money" or "ABC is a bit pricy in my opinion" because he gets free stuff. Manufacturers will STOP sending him free and new swag if his reviews of other products are less than positive.

I once saw a video where he interviewed Adam on the Autotrickler V3 as they were both discussing its features.... I found it VERY informative.
However, my decision to buy was mostly influenced by user reviews here on CGN and other youtube videos from other F Class competitors.
