Ares GSR-35 gas piston install question

Hey guys, long shot here,
I picked up a ares drop in gas piston system and installed it.
Reading the instructions it sounds like there should be maybe 1/32" of play from the op rod and bcg?

Maybe I'm reading the install directions wrong. There is about the gap of a couple pieces of paper. Other than this the install was very strait forward and function tests fine.

Regular printer paper averages .004" thickness. 1/32" is .03125". So by my math, you should be able to fit 7 pieces or paper.
