argh,.bad ideas at GLobal Village

I just sent off a formal complaint with his last e-mail and a few earlier ones that contradict some of his claims. Lets see if anything gets done about it by the Executive Council

Now that you have lodged a formal complaint I would recommend that you keep discussion of this situation off of the forums until it is dealt with.

You shouldn't be contacting the Executive Council directly. If you have issues or concerns...you should contact your section coordinator...who will pass in on the the RD...who represents Canada at the General Assembly

I wonder how one can contact the Executive Council? The individual names can be found at the AGM minutes, but emails are not listed anywhere.

IPSC CANADA needs to come to the table BIG TIME on this matter.

This is NOT a situation surrounding a Forum. (even if that forum is the official IPSC forum)

It is a EXECUTIVE MEMBER of IPSC THREATENING a member of IPSC Canada........

That is an outrage and should have ever member of IPSC absolutley fuming..........and I mean everyone not just Canadians.

Well, here is the problem. The counsil is there to work on immediate IPSC needs between general assemblies. Besides, I doubt it will be desirable to bring up things like that at GA, yet it seem like an immediate need.

Regional coordinator assured me that GV is not an official forum, yet it is listed as part of IPSC and referenced from the web site and from online ipscworld magazine...

Is there anyone accountable out there? Not sure if they will support any shooter against their fellas.

Since I started shooting IPSC I only know one president and Vince is the pope of IPSC rules.

Hope I'm wrong and they make someone accountable for threatening a member...

if you're going to post over there, please don't just do it to antagonize Vince, post lucid, thought out answers or rebuttals. He'll make you look like an asshat.
Storm, while you may be right, pounding the podium like a drum doesn't help.
there is now a poll about the sweeping rule. Please go vote. it's actually a close call right now.
this is another one of those rules, leave it alone, if you aren't comfortable drawing like some of us thinks is ok, then don't. Me? I'm more of a "my legs, my toes"

I guess a few of the votes against it are not ok...as they can not vote having been kicked off.

I CAN'T GO VOTE!!

That ASSHAT banned me when I defended YOU in his attack on YOU. By pointing out that he was standing in quicksand not on bedrock with his position.

I was not rude at all............he banned me anyway.

That is what we are dealing with!! A Meglomaniac with POWER a terrible combination.

Thus I will rant

I will POUND

I will YELL!

Maybe it will not, but if more people will go there and vote against that change, it will make some thinking. There are RD on that forum watching this close. After All, they will vote on that.

I'm not a fan of the proposed change to the sweeping rule, but is the situation with the proposed change really significantly different to the situation in the current 2009 Ed 2 rule book? The "on the draw" exception ends the instant the gun clears the holster. If you sweep your foot at any time after the gun clears the holster, which is the most likely time for it to happen, the current rules say you should be tossed.

Could u quote the 2009 edition rule. I am on my phone and it is a pita to

10.5.5. Allowing the muzzle of a handgun to point at any part of the competitor's body during a course of fire (i.e. sweeping). A match disqualification is not applicable if sweeping occurs while drawing or re-holstering a gun, provided the competitor's fingers are clearly outside the trigger guard.

Makes me wish I was shooting IPSC just so I could read the actual teminology of the proposed changes...

If you're dumb enough to leave your finger in the trigger while holstering you deserve a bullet in the leg/foot. This will hurt IDPA coming over to try out IPSC as they would have to buy a special race holster just for this rather then use the gear they are curretly running. We're the only country that has this issue so no one else will give a shjt

HANDGUN COMPETITION RULES said:

Draw (Drawing) The act of removing a handgun from it’s holster. A draw is deemed to have ended when the handgun has cleared the holster.

It's not just 10.5.5, which I don't think changed in the last rulebook. The 2009 rulebook added the definition of the draw which effectively limits the exception to 10.5.5 while drawing to the period up until the gun "clears" the holster. Once the gun has cleared the holster, all sweeping penalties apply.

If someone is fast enough to see (not bragging about me,...or anyone else)...that muzzle sweep my foot on the draw,.etc..than they have vision that would rival Steve Austin...the six million dollar man. Then we may have RO's (although I really hope not), that think they see something...thankfully,...most RO's I have seen (Canada, USA), only call on things they actually see.
