New to the game. Just purchased a 1301 with the US style M-lok forend. Is any one making a heatsheild for OEM handguard?

modified the barrel clamping arms(shortened) of the heat shield to clear the action bars, had to modify the rear forend adaptor to accept the heat sheild barrel clamps(no need for a ranger band to secure it) Mag tube nut needs to be removed to gain access to the heatsheild screws & heat sheild screws & clamp need to be assembled before mag tube nut is reassembled.


Modification to the bottom heat sheild barrel clamp to clear the mag tube nut, I also cut off one of clamping assemblies.

You will also need to glue a heat resistant rubber to the bottom of the upper portion of the heat sheild(I used the rubber gaskets from the Tactical Ordnance/cut to fit)

The rubber takes up the space between the sheild & barrel allowing you to tighten the sheild to the barrel.(I believe it was about 3 or 4 layers stacked)
