arisaka Type 38 sight

hi!

i have a type 38 arisaka and this rifle has a peep sight all the other type 38 i see have a V Sight type... something are wrong with my 38 or ???... someone help..


i make a quick search about those two type of sight on type 38 but .... nothing

I would suggest that you post a photograph.

Thre are people here who know a great deal about Arisakas.... but I am not one of them.

A photo would help to dispel a lot of questioning back-and-forth and perhaps even get you a very fast (and correct) answer.

Late production T38s had an aperture rather than a V sight.

I would highly recommend you get yourself this book by Duncan McCollum on Japanese rifles:

Its a nice thin book that will tell you about and show you all the major configurations of Arisaka rifles; different sights, differences in years and factories of manufacture, difference styles of the bolt knob, safety cap, sling swivels and receiver screws, etc. Though originally a V-notch sighted rifle, the Arisaka Type 38 was manufactured with peep sights similar to the Type 99 series. Rest assured there is nothing wrong with your rifle.
