Arktis Drag Bag From One Shot Tactical

Great looking bags guys but I have to hijack this for a moment. How on earth did you get RTU'd from 2 BMQ courses?
Hahahaha! I've been wondering that too.
Well, first time was in the summer. I got to the Chilliwack base, filled out some forms and then unpacked my kit in my room. A Mcpl came up and told me to go downstairs to the waiting room. So after sitting in there, doing nothing for about 20 hours along with 4 other guys (we slept in there), I got told I was getting RTU'ed because I wasn't course loaded:rolleyes:.

This time I was on a winter BMQ in Albert Head, and things were going fine, until we started to do the "ground arms" drill. After the 3x40min drill period, I noticed my knee was really stiff and swollen, so when I got home I saw the doctor, etc., and was told I couldn't do anything on it for 6-8 weeks (patella femoral syndrome). Did the course for 2 more weekends, then got RTU'ed by the WO.
Kinda hoping the "third time's a charm" applies here...

Oh and I FINALLY got my bloody paychecks (3 MONTHS late)!

So! Now that I have my paychecks:
Yes, I'm biting the bullet and getting an M24 sling; I figure I may as well dish out the cash for one now while I have the money. Along with that I'm buying an Artkis bag and an Eagle stockpad. So; what colors should I get? The standard OD for the artkis, and I was thinking black for the cheekpad and the sling. I'm not sure if I'll be painting my rifle down the road, but I figure black will look fine with whatever color I decide to paint it.
What do you rifle-metologists think?

-Rohann

But my rifle is black!
So you think OD would look ok on black for the time being? I'm just so sick of all this OD Korean war era army gear I have.

Okay, well is there some sort of comparison I can make between a camo painted rifle with black accessories and a black rifle with OD accessories?

Or is OD the "new black"?

Thanks,
-Rohann

Rohann, Maybe you can get a purse in O.D. to match......Who gives a crap if it matches. If it matters to you for it to match, tape off the turrets and lenses, break out the Krylon and make it O.D. Voila! instant fashion show!

Hahahaha well said guys...(at least I don't carry around a murse...:p. Just kidding!).
By the way, I was completely kidding about the "OD is the new black" comment. I actually heard someone say "pink is the new black" once, and I've been making fun of it ever since.

You know, I was just thinking in the back of my head that the only thing missing in this thread would be the line....."Rohann was wondering, where's Slavex and the ballgag?" I was going to leave well enough alone until you showed up.

Slavex: Hahahahaha! I'm not sure if you mean I'm a flamer or I'm going to get flamed...but either way...I was just kidding LS .

We know, we're just messing with you! Stop worrying about the stupid stuff, take that rifle out and shoot it and let it teach you about itself and the rest will all work out. The rifle could be a pink and purple marbling combo and you wearing a velvet dress and none of that will matter once you prove that you can operate the piece of kit to the edge of what it can do. Stop worrying...start shooting, it will all work out.

Haha don't worry I know:).
I can't wait for the BCRA season to start up, then I can finally start shooting at the military range. I have 100 175 MK's on the way, and am gonna reload a whole bunch as soon as the bullets get here.
Oh and do you know of anyone who can paint a rifle like that? You got me interested.

-Rohann

100 smk's, I think you missed a zero:p As far as painting a rifle, there are two methods, Skullboys Gucci Sniper, or the rest of us...I have painted my rifle four seperate times it gets easier each time you do it. Clean the rifle with alcohol or mek, mask off the areas you don't want to get paint on(Turret markings, lenses, crown etc.) decide what colours to buy (use the Krylon camo series of paint at Canadian tire) paint 'er up and you are good to go.

Haha no I was actually referring to the purple and pink marbling combo, but I was joking. Jamie offered to paint my rifle, and I may very well take him up on that offer in the near future; he did a heck of a job on his.
I only ordered 100 SMK's because I figure it'd be best to see what my rifle likes before I buy bulk.
