Arm18 vs Sadlak

Did you use the search function here? See above at the top of the page in the scope mounts sticky. Alot of problems with the ARMS18 with mounting properly, and once mounted it is known to cause jams due to not enough clearance for ejecting casings. Also it sits too low to use the iron sights. Fab sports has Sadlak in stock right now as well!

My friend has an ARMS mount on his M14, I have the Sadlak on mine. I checked them both out closely. Fit and finish is quite nice on both. They both have a 3 point mounting system. The ARMS does sit about a 1/4" lower than the Sadlak though, but I don't ever remember it jamming when shooting. I guess it comes down to how your M14 ejects brass.
The front mounting point of the ARMS mount will require you to cut a little piece out of the handguard for clearance for the allen bolt unless you change it to a set screw. I also believe the Sadlak has a bit more length, maybe 2 or 3 extra rails. Sadlak costs a bit more too last time I checked.
I can still use iron sights with my Sadlak with or without scope attached (to a point). I think what ADK means is that with the ARMS mount, a scope/rings will block out the irons when attached. But just remove the scope and rings a your good to go with irons.

Can't really go wrong with either in my opinion.

ive got the arms. mounted it, shot the rifle with iron sights for a while, no problems with sight picture or ejection jams. i believe the older ones didnt have a channel down the middle and you couldnt use irons. so far i love it. that said i havnt used the sadlak and i havnt heard much or anything really bad about them. both cream of the crop imo. saw an arms 18 in the ee the other day i believe.

I have the ARMS #18 on my M1A and its a good mount - no problems with zero holding at all. I have also used the Sadlak Aluminum and while others have reported problems, I found that once installed correctly (and with blue loktite applied) that it too was no problem at all.
