ARMA-COAT vs DURACOAT vs all OTHER

Steppenwolf, I wish I could post the colour chart but I do not know how.But we have Glacier Grey(light grey), Matte black, Woodland tan, Olive Green, Desert Sand, Stainless Steel, White, Batteleship grey, Desert Brown. Then the Armacoat Clear, And Arma-Fill.If you want I can email you a colour chart and some actual photos if you like.We are making some more colours soon, but would like to satisfy our customers by demand. So far matte Black is our best seller(no suprise) then in a close second is Olive green which looks great too.We will not have any bright colours such as lime or pink. As our products have only been out for a month we will be constantly growing our colors on a monthly basis.Currently i am debating on making a very dark brown or even an Olive Drab, but check back with me by phone or e-mail and i will update you.

Hitzy, Thanks alot ,hopefully I can get it right next time.

When you are in the photobucket site, copy and paste the IMG link right into your text here. Easy as that. Are the pics suppose to be that small?

No the pictures are alot bigger on this computer but whatever. There are a few colors which I do not have any pictures for.I have prototype colors that i made a while ago and have their pics too,Maybe I will post those soon also. Thanks again for the help

pricing

What is the price for 4oz without the sprayer? Also how much does it take to cover the average bolt action?

What about durability on areas of high wear like a bolt with rotating extractor (mauser) and the bolt ways?

Thanks
Rod

The price for 4oz's is $17.99.You can do 2-3 rifles with 4oz, if you are not coating the stocks. With the matter of high wear areas you should be fine. With a full cure and a little bit of lubrication everything should be good.

So, Hitzy and Garmack: any new insights with your trials?

The first stuff I did has cured (3 weeks) so tonight I will take some pics and I will test a bunch of cleaning chemicals on it to see how resistant it is. So far it looks like pretty good stuff, easy to use, clean up is quick and easy and the finished job looks real nice. I have already purchased 8oz as I was that impressed with the freebie sample I received. :D

OK, here are some pics of the stuff I did. I did the M1 enblocs about 3 weeks ago when I received the free sample. I was trying to thing of something already parkerised that doesn't need much prep and these jumped up at me. :D I did the chemical resistance test last night, I tried everything I had at my disposal and rubbed it on with a q-tip to see if I could get the paint to come off. I tried hoppes #9 and benchrest, Butchs bore shine, CLP, a heavy duty brake degreaser, mineral spirits and laquer thinner. Nothing removed the paint. :D I did get a little color on the q-tip with the laquer thinner but it was very very faint and did not removed the finish. Since laquer thinner has MEK in it, I would say that Armacoat is as resiliant to chemicals as the bake on moly resins (guncote, norrells, etc) because that is their litmus test.......
I'll update on how this stuff wears, the enblocs take quite a beating at the range so we will see how durable the paint is. I just painted the Ar15 mag so it won't be ready for abuse for another 3 weeks. All in all, this stuff is cheaper than Duracoat, certainly just as good and Barret ships promptly which is more than I can say for Blackcat.......
You can buy this stuff with confidence.
I'll be doing more things in the near future (Ar15 barrel, some small parts, some Garand stuff etc.)
