I just recieved my arma coat in the mail and am getting ready to paint a 6.5 x55. I have turned the military barrel down to a sportrer look and have cleaned of all the bluing with sandpaper, while turning the barrel in the lathe, should I still sandblast the barrel or just degrease it and paint??

thanks for any help

Sandblasting is a must for high quality results, a fine etch in the steel gives better adheasion -better texture-and a factory looking finish. I don't parkerize, the metal is aready covered with paint, parkerizing is no primer. Acitone, laquer thinner = degrease and baking between coats and to final cure its a must .Use an air brush /small spay gun you will achieve greater results.
