Armacoat GUN Coatings

That's right, you can oven cure it and it's fully hard in minutes, or don't use an oven and its cured in something like 20 days if I remember right. There isn't supposed to be a difference in durability.

For metal I have been using gunkote mostly, but I don't do much with coatings. I think cerakote is an excellent product from what I have read, but I have never used it.

I had a doublestack 1911 done in armacoat.

It did not hold up well to regular IPSC use with a blade tech kydex holster.

The finish wore quickly on the slide and the lower part of the frame that comes into contact with the holster.

I blast with fine sand grit for body work.

if you give it a try, dont forget to wear a organic vapor mask and if you cook it in the kitchen oven, wait when there is nobody home for many hours after, it smell strong like H***
