Armalight AR 17 Shotgun

Milarm here in Edmonton had one a bunch of years back. Some unfeeling slob had dropped it on the toe of the stock and busted off a chunk. No idea how the hell a guy would fix that.

I had my hands on it, and yep, it's crazy light. Neat idea.

Did you get this from guy in Airdrie Alberta? I had my eyes on it if so. I saw it the year before at the calgary gunshow when it was first sold for more. I was tempted but can't justify it.

As a general principle, unfired arms will have more value to a collector than a fired one, so firing it will devalue it to some degree. I know nothing about these guns, collector interest or value. If it were a pre '64 Winchester, I'd say don't fire it. If these are worth serious money, then you might want to reconsider putting rounds through it.

Have you read any online accounts of people owning/using these either as a target gun or hunting gun? Not much out there for anecdotal usage. I think you'd get about a box or two of light target ammo through it and something would "pop". Rendering it useless, as I would imagine acquiring a spare ANYTHING for this gun would be next to impossible. I'd keep it unfired myself. Buy a Mossberg maverick with the short barrel if you want a light shotgun to tote around. Mine is as light as I'd want for a 12 guage gun.

Have a gold one myself, fire many rnds of standard loads out of i got one in 60’s wall hanger now no parts available!
