Armalite AR-24 pistol

Twice.

I saw and handled this fine pistol at the 2008 & 2009 SHOT Show. It has a reasonable trigger similar to the CZ75 but fits the hand better. I thought that the slide to frame fit could be a little tighter but my overall impression of the gun is that it would work just fine.
I believe that it is made in either Turkey or the Phillipines. At least it is not that Chi-Com junk. If they come here and they are priced right I would consider buying one. I liked it better than the Czech made XD.

darren,

The Armalite is made in Turkey by Sarsilmaz, an old and established firearms manufacturer. May I suggest you go to www.czforumsite.info and search for the Armalite as there are several in depth reviews.

I recall reading a very favourable review on these pistols a few years ago. Apparently they are a high quality copy of the CZ75 with some nice modifications.

While the CZ75 pistols are decent (I own a CZ75 in stainless) there is one flaw that bugs me about them. It's been ingrained for me not to use the slide release lever. Instead an overhand "clam shell" grip is used for racking the action. The slide on the CZ pistols is a low profile deal due to the way it mates with the frame. All of the clones/copies/improved versions of the CZ75 have this. The low profile makes it harder to rack the slide with this method. That's about the only complaint that I have with the CZ75 style of pistol.

very nice pistol, but really it is just a cz clone. there is several of these one the market. personally I like the baby eagle the best in stainless, and the cz shadow is very nice as well. but for the money the armalite is very nice.
