Armedsask: you explained in post #5 why AR-180B is non-restricted. Wolverine's online price list shows AR-180B as restricted and AR-180B-2 as non-restricted, both for the same price of $1,039. Would you be able to enlighten us on the finer distinction between B and B-2.

AFAIK, Armalite is still making a smaller amount of the longer barrelled AR-180's for States like California that have barrel length restrictions. We get some of that run but not a lot of them hence the wait times for them from Wolverine.
I got mine and put an ACE folder skeleton stock on it. Just ordered the MWI forearm and will replace the skeleton with an M4 collapsible. Pics will be forthcoming, give me a month.
Before my new mods:
These pics show it with a Tapco T6 stock. Since these pics were taken I put on an ACE skeleton stock a la Armedsask. Personally I don't like the skeleton stock. It is fixed lengthed and while it has cool factor it isn't comfortable to shoot with. It does fold nicely though.
Anyway, my new mods should be finished by the end of the month and I;ll keep you guys posted

With the end of the Asualt Weapons Ban down south Armalite started threading the barrels on the newly manufactures AR180B's. This is great but not for us. The AR180B only have 18" of rifling, thus cutting off the muzzle brake makes the barrel too short and therefore restricted.

Okay, so if I buy one of these, what are the must haves that I need to make it a really bad a$$ rifle? 
I like the folder or coallaspable stocks. Lilja Rifle Barrels is a client but I don't know how hard it is to change the barrel. What about triggers for them? How accurate are they factory? What twist are the barrels??

These rifles are great out of the box. I can't think of any internal mods to make it shoot better. Optics are a consideration of course, but anything else is purely cosmetic. I wanted a non-restricted AR type rifle, I got one. I keep tricking it but it does coyotes no better than the first time I took it out with factory irons. It is one of my favorites, that is until I get an M96.
