Armalite/Colt Fit??

Has anyone tried fitting an Armalite upper to a Colt lower? Does it work? Do all the parts interchange?

Sometimes.

Some of the civilian marketed Colts use proprietary takedown and fire control pin sizes. The takedown pin problems can be overcome with adapters, but the fire control parts are exclusive to Colt.

Like mike said, it also depends on how old the colt upper is? the new ones (6920 and 6921) will fit without an adapter. As for the new colt lowers there all .170 pins

I have an Armalite upper on a Colt Sporter Match HBAR lower but I needed an offset pin to mate the two of them.

Is that offset pin something that is marketed, or did it have to be made up/drilled for your rifle?

I got mine from Questar for $8.95, but I'm sure other places must carry them too.

Are you sure you need the offset pin? how old is the colt upper?

It's a colt lower match Hbar, and I was thinking of getting a short armalite upper to switch back and forth instead of more cost for two rifles. Wanted to know if it would even work proper first though.
