For those of you who have had your 1911's tuned by Gunnar, approximately how long was the turn around time? He's tuning my Norc 1911 'Police Model' right now. I have never sent a gun to a gunsmith to get tuned, so I have no idea what to expect, and I don't want to bug Gunnar with unnecessary emails as he must be pretty busy right now.

Thanks!

I sent him a Llama in trade on a Norstinko..... That was 2 weeks ago.... The Llama is now for sale (all tuned and ready to go) and my 1911A1 is in the hands of CanadaPost.....

So I guess what I'm trying to say is ..... 2 weeks, maybe 3 including shipping time....

He is VERY busy right now getting ready for the local g-show up there. so if there is a bit of a lag I wouldn't be too surprised.

Cheers

I'd expect some delays, he's busier than the proverbial 'one legged man' right now, but I can guarantee it will be worth the wait. You won't believe the change in feel and function - everything is just so smooth.

I sent my Norc to Gunnar in early January for a tune up. He told me then that the gun would not be ready before March because they're very busy. That was perfectly fine with me because my club has an outdoor range only and it's way too cold to shoot in the winter.
Also, they do 1911 tune ups on several guns at the time so sometimes you have to wait a while before they have enough guns to start.
I just got my gun back about 2 weeks ago. I still haven't had a chance to shoot it but the trigger is much nicer.

I am looking at buying a Police 1911 from Canada Ammo and having it shipped straight to Gunnar, has anybody done that? How does the whole transfer/ATT thing work if I want to do this?

Thanks,
Mark

When I shipped to Gunnar it was fairly simple.... I called 1-800-731-4000 and pushed buttons till I got to the ATT option and told the person what I wanted to do.

Gunnar had already given me his Firearm dealer #, they needed that, so it was a painless 5 min on the phone. I told them I wanted to post it that evening when I got home, so they faxed me the TATT to take it to the postoffice, I also had the option of them just giving me the # over the phone to write it down so that I wouldn't have to wait a day or 2 to mail it in the event I had no access to a fax machine.

I mailed it and 2 days later Gunnar told me he got it. Then 2 days after that he told me what was wrong with it, how much to repair and how much he could do in trade...... I took the trade and here I sit waiting for the postman.

So far its been 2 weeks as of yesterday, fairly easy and painless...... Other than the fact I got burned buying a used gun online..... but thats another story.
