What drives me crazy is the stuff without a price. I wonder if he waits for questions about price and then posts. Any time I asked I never heard back but later saw a price that was stupid high. Stung several times before I gave up.
What you don't know is that he has been dealing with a life threatening medical condition and had a relapse that almost killed him. Priorities.
I just traded a BHP in to him. I told him it had fired 1500 rounds or more, I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it, I had made 3 scratches on the gun when I did my version of gun smith work on it, I bought it in 2010 new. I traded it off cheap as I did not want to sell it to an unsuspecting soul on here. So here is a cut and past off his web site 5 minutes ago:
"Last year's Browning Hi-Power in 9mm - still looks new - less than 500 rounds - $749 - Trades? On hold - Shawn "
Wow, not surprised but wow.
Gunnar is so good that even used guns he touches are magically improved and somehow better for the experience!
Next time sell it on the EE for a good price and describe the issues.
Do you have any alternate contacts for him or his business? I would like to have a quick word with them.
I have bought a CZ85 Combat from Gunnar back in 2009 ish... without any issues. I purchased a S&W revolver, having paid in full on 2013JAN24 and have not received any emails. I have sent 6 different emails - all polite... no response. I called twice, once during what I thought would be business hours in BC during a week day and another time in the evening. The second time, an older lady answered the phone and said Gunnar wasn't taking any phone calls.
I shall keep trying..... Very frustrating. I'm usually not one to vent online as I hate most of the b(tching threads... but having exercised all available methods to me (apart from flying to BC and attending his business), I do not know how else to contact him. I do understand that he has/had an illness and is older... but the money (EMT) was accepted. Even a note saying "sorry, it'll be a few months before I can get to your purchase" and I wouldn't have a problem. I'm 'young' by some guys standards, however I'm not a member of the 'want it yesterday' generation so I don't mind if there's some wait time - just a little communication would help.
