I couldn't find much info on these, but for $200, similar to 870 with aluminum receiver, figured it was worth a gamble. Credit to Westrifle for this being delivered in under 36 hrs from placing the order!

Anyone else have one of these and how have you found it? I was hoping it would be closer to the 870 for compatibility, but the fit and finish seem to be better than the DA at least.

Next to Grizzly 8.5 for reference.

Won't be swapping barrels any time soon.

The receiver isn't recessed at the rear like the 870 so any 870 stock or grip would need trimming - a relatively easy fix.

The bolt, action bars, and foregrip are all different. The foregrip will be more challenging than the buttstock but I'm hopeful I can find a way to get a wood set on there.

The receiver is a bit larger in all dimensions.

The front sight is almost level with the receiver so hopefully it doesn't have the usual short barrel syndrome.

Can't wait to get out and try it, will update when I do!

Looks interesting. The weight savings of the aluminum receiver looks like it was replaced by the additional barrel metal near the chamber. Not sure if I'd butcher 870 accessories on to it, since you'll lose the resale value of them down the road. For $200, if it works well, it's a great trunk gun.

Yeah I don't know why they have the extended barrel part, I guess they needed to for strength with the aluminum? The gun does still feel pretty light though (listed at 2kg) - one of these days I'll get a kitchen scale and check.

If it shoots well I'll likely try to put a used wood set on it. I'm loving the look of wood on these short shotguns lately. Wouldn't be too worried about depreciating a $50 set.

My buddy has one, first time out he was getting light strikes but after taking it down a bunch of times and clearing some aluminum chips we found it was a burr on the hammer assembly that was catching from time to time....working the hammer through the burr for 5 minutes smoothed it out and now it functions reliably.

All it really needs is a better butt pad.

I bought one for my birthday. Like it a lot. Recoil is stiff with 2 3/4 slugs, three slugs in a 3 inch group at 25 yrds and they struck point of aim. I have put 200 rounds of mostly Birdshot thru mine, action tends to open when firing slugs. Cycles reliably and great service from Westrifle quick to ship.
