Good Morning all

I know that some people on here do not like these rifles but there are some who do. I just ordered one from Ellwood Epps. Now I would like to find out and information on these "black rifle". I know that they are not that reliable but it is a restricted rifle and that must just piss off all the liberals that another one is sold and not destroyed :D. Is there parts still out there for these rifles? or are they all dried up? I would love to be able to find 2 or 3 extra mags for these if they are around.Does the Squires Bingham ap-74 mags fit the Armi Jager's? Anybody know for any? What kind of accuracy can I expect out of these? I just want to use it for plinking and plates. What is the best ammo to use in these rifle, do they need high power stuff or just about anything?

Thank you for all your help

I have 3 of them, each in slightly different configurations, and they are lots of fun. However, if you want total reliability in a .22 black gun, get a 10/22 and build an AR or AK lookalike.

Each one of mine likes different ammo - don't ask me why. One will feed cheap bulk ammo, but is finicky with the good stuff; another only likes one brand of good ammo; and the third prefers another brand of good shells.

They also must be kept very clean, especially the feed ramps and the chambers. They are very fussy on the feeding in, and extracting out.

With a clean gun, and the specific ammo for each gun, they are reliable for 500 rounds or so.

As for mags, they are available in the US. Kassnar AP15 and Jager AP74 use the same mag, and I know that ammoclip.com has 15 rounders for $33 each, but shipping them to Canada requires export permits.

As for why they are restricted, God only knows.

Have fun.

I have had 3 of them as well. They were extremely accurate. I won my first 50yard off hand meet at HAHA:D with one and I won our 2004 rifle league with one:D:D. I ended up giving (yes giving) them away to my gunsmith to destroy:eek:, to use as parts or whatever. Just get them away from me:mad:. It was a love hate relationship with them. As good as they were in the accuracy departent they failed big time when it came to reliability. They would break down at meets all the time and at the worst possible times. It just drove me crazy. :bangHead:I started canabalising them to feed one particular rifle. But eventually they all gave up the ghost and I started having to machine new parts to keep just one running. Thats when I totally gave up.:runaway:

Sad but true. They're gone and I replaced them with a dedicated .22LR AR15 and have never looked back........until now:mad::(:confused::p:D

mine was accurate and reliable until i broke it by letting the hammer drop (while broke open for cleaning) on the ejector post.that cheap pig metal can't take a lot of impact.i got a replacement lower but these guns are hand fitted so it didn't feed well after that.i sold it off a long time ago...

Armscor is not the same as Armi-Jager, Jager, or Kassnar. Armscor is the same as Squires-Bingham and is a totally different gun.

The SB and Armscor's are a .22 semi in a sort-of look's like an M16 or an AK depending on the model.

The Jager AP-74 is designed as a blow-back copy of the AR complete with upper, lower, buffer tube etc...

Armscor mags will not fit. Totally different animal.

It took me years to find a source for mags, and that source I have already mentioned above. How you get them from the US is your choice, but legally they need an export permit. I can attest to the fact that they work well.

I received my rifle on Thursday and went out to the range on Friday to give it a try. FUN gun, puts it lightly. I love this little thing so much that I just may have to get a .22 lr upper for my real ar. Why are they not being mad anymore? For the price of .22 lr and the price for this rifle ($230 ) I had over two hours of strait shooting for under $20. I think that they are great. Will post some pictures when I clean it. Thank you for all your help and opinions.
