Hi all,
I am wondering if anyone has experiance
To share about Armi Sport BP guns?
I am interested in An 1853 cap lock in 58 cal.
Are they good bad? It sure looks good but I thought I would ask.
Also can I purchase the mini (spelling) balls or do you have to make them?

Thanks, I have just emailed Jet. I am under the impression that minie's will be more accurate?

Minie balls are way more accurate and much easier to load.

the Enfield rifling is shallow and not set up to shoot patch and ball. I have tried it with .570 RB and patch, it works ok for 50m on a steel plate, but anything pass 50m you need a minie ball.

Early on I bought an AS flintlock. It has a lot of poor features in the lockwork. First off is the lack of a half #### fly. Second is the lack of a secondary plate (I believe it's called the "bridle"?) to support the supporting pins of the sear and the tumbler. I tried to shim the #### but it still has a fair amount of play compared to my other side lock muzzle loaders that have the support provided by the secondary "bridle" plate. That and the very simple but not very well shaped hooks on the tumbler means that I can trip the sear and if done slowly and gently it can "catch" on the half #### notch. I ground away a little to form a kicker wedge shape to avoid this but it's one of those little things I should not have needed to do. Even so though the angles that the tumbler can move through means that the trigger feel isn't consistent.

So all in all I don't care for my Armi Sport and would not recommend them at all.
