Not sure if this is the right venue to ask, but I am looking to find a replacement bolt for the Arms 18 mount, but can't seem to find one. I bought the mount used and would love to mount it on my boy's M305. Thanks in advance
Joe

Have a similar situation, but if I’m not mistaken the stripped bolt is coming with the mount. I was just planning on taking it the bolt into home hardware, but if anyone knows the size of the bolt feel free to share!

not gonna find that bolt at home hardware boys.
send ARMS an email, any time I've needed one I've had to get it directly from them. One of the dealers used to have some ....You could maybe try Armtac , not sure if he was the dealer that stocked the side bolt. Or maybe try Wolverine supplies. But my guess is you will need to get it direct from the manufacturer.

:d It would have been worth a try. The Gent I got the mount from suggested I call ProMag, and that in his experience they were very helpful. I wouldn't have expected a proprietary fastener, what's unique about it?

#12- 32 Unef is the actual bolt/thread required in a grade 8 fastener. Not something usually found at the hardware store..... maybe fastenal but i doubt it.
Midway and maybe Brownells would be sources for the side bolt as well. I think they both sell the M14/M1A receiver thread chasing tool as well, a wise purchase if you have already chewed up a genuine arms 18 side bolt. The promag mounts are decent enough but thier side bolt is prone to stripping so whenever I installed a Promag arms 18 copy for customers I would order bolts from ARMS directly, 6 or 12 at a time.

I don't work on these rifles anymore , nor do I have big huge parts bins to share but I might..... maybe..... have one or two ARMS 18 side bolts here. I will look and if I find them I will post here. If I don't come back and post about finding them..... I didn't find them haha

Thanks! Hopefully a few turn up! My local Home Hardware has a large selection of bulk fasteners, that said, there is a vast selection of fasteners out there, so I wasn't actually expecting to find the right size & grade. I suppose if I found them at an industrial supply I'd be leaving with 100...

Just went through this process. I broke the screw when trying to mount on my m14. Contacted Arms and they sent a new screw. Cost me 25 bucks

Good to know, thank you Sir
Are these commonly breaking due to over tightening? or is there another reason?
