Okay you ARMS 18 scope mount lovers. These mounts work predictably well and offer very few surprises after the first $ 200 cost.
UNTIL... you install that final set screw for the front contact pad.
Some of you gotta cut/grind/modify/bubba the rear of your handguard. Well, I found a cheap way around all that. My guess is that the kind ARMS 18 Engineers wanted you to employ that same (it is 3/32" ?? ) allen wrench that was also used to employ the clip guide interface. Worry no more because I have the set screw you need to replace that allen head set screw (that sticks out) for your front contact pad. And the only tool you need to install this set screw is a 1/16" allen key, you know... the one supplied with the new Remington M700 XMark Pro triggers.
It's really a # 6 - 40 x 3/16" long, cup point set screw.
How do you obtain one? Or how does one get hooked up?
JUST simply PM me (send me a private message) with your address and I'll get one into the mail for ya!
Just that simple!
Your next question: why is Hungry doing all this?
Back in 1986 or was it 1987? A kind coach took me under his wing and said, "I'll teach you everything about the M14, as long as you never charge $$ for this knowledge...." Little did I know over 25 years later;
He left me a legacy. Now that I'm left holding the "legacy", I gotta keep paying it forward.
So if I can find a simple fix for all of you M14 lovers out there, I try!
and happy St. Paddy's Day!
Barney
