The AEI 'Command Centre', a Mac computer, died over the weekend.

I ordered a replacement this morning, but apologize in advance if communication suffers over the next few days. I also ask that you call, rather than email for the next few days, if you have questions, etc.

Backups were made, so hopefully the data end of things won't be too bad, but we'll cross that bridge when a new box arrives.

Firearms transfers are all done on paper and are not affected, but contact details info is currently unavailable. If you are waiting on a call from us, please call me at 709-691-6232, or if possible, email your invoice to info@armseast.com (can check remotely) or fax it to 709-754-1295.

Fingers crossed, we will be back up to speed by the end of this week/weekend.

Give serious concern to putting another box on a small network, that runs in parallel to your main machine, and back your data up to it (in addition to regular backups), so that switchover is just that. The cost of boxes these days are not high, and you're about to find out the cost of a failure is. Redundancy remains the default condition in a computing environment for business, and the cost of it is these days is easily distributed over the business cycle.

Just thought of this and edited the first post... If you have an invoice from Arms East in your email box (regardless of date), if you could email it back to info@armseast.com, it would be greatly apprecicated. Have paper (and I hope electronic) backups of most of these, but it would speed up the doublechecking process/troubleshooting. A new machine is on the way.
