As a preamble, I kinda want to ditch my UTG rail with dovetail setup because although it seems to be working alright, it's just, I dunno, kinda codged together. Had to run Zee rings to make up for the lower rear rail. Seems to be working fine now, holding zero but I realized I like shooting with irons as well on top of just much preferring to have the ability to easily remove the scope and go to irons.

This brings me to my question on the ARMS18 &22 combo. Seems lotsa people love the ARMS18 despite occasional ejection issues (which I'm not to concerned about as I have a set of USGI bolt internals coming :D) and I'm a big fan of having the ability to quickly remove the scope/rings to go to the irons while sill maintaining (allegedly) zero when I reinstall the rings. Curious about experience people have had running this setup on their M14?

thx

That was the setup back when all these M14 parts were hard to come by up here. I ran the ARMS18 with Med Height 22 rings. Shot service rifle with that setup for 4 years with zero problems. I did however run a USGI bolt with USGI guts so I didn't have the stovepipe issue like most guys running Nork stuff. And yeah it did return to zero when I took off the scope and remounted it

Sweet, that's what I was hoping to hear! I figure I should be ok for stovepipes too by running all USGI internals in a Norc bolt (unless someone has a USGI bolt they wanna part with). Hopefully Wolverine gets back to me saying they have the mount and rings in stock. If not, will ARMS ship to Canada?

Wolverine had some in stock 2 weeks ago, ring 'em up ASAP!

MAKE SURE when you mount the ARMS18 mount to use LOCTITE thread locker and dont be cheap! AND see if you can get your hands on a proper torque wrench to torque the side bolt...I've seen way too many guys goon that bolt on and strip it. Also its in inch pounds not foot pounds. Mine finally came loose after 4 years and a couple thousand rounds...bad timing tho, during a match!!! Its my fault for not double checking the rifle from top to bottom

Wolverine had the ARMS 22 rings in stock but everyone seems to be out of the 18 mounts. ARMS themselves were also out. They will ship to Canada but they said 2-3 weeks, 4-6 weeks ago. I haven't followed up with them in about 2 weeks, they took my info and said they would call when ready. I'm in no rush, I broke down and picked up a M14.ca mount to try.

The 22 rings are heavy duty! I got the low profile because I knew my irons were coming off. With a Falcon Menace 1.5-5 IR scope the rear of the scope clears the mount by about 3mm, tight! I think medium profile would be a safe bet with irons.

You will love the rings, and if you find the 18 let us know! :D

Its a great set up - I believe there is standard procedures in terms of using Norinco rifles - the springs are too long.

Ive had .. and have an ARMS 18 / ARMS 22 set up and its been solid.

x2 on the LOCTITE
