anyone have any info on a .22 rimfire armscor m1600? just got one(used, really cheap), but the trigger will not engage the firing pin. i've removed the trigger group and tried to reassemble it so it will work but cant seem to make it happen. not sure what the problem is! any info would be appreciated. thanks.

There's a fancy procedure to set the trigger on these rifles. Requires a pin and three or four hands.

Best bet is to download the manual from here http://www.stevespages.com/page7b.htm and read it VERY carefully.

You'll love this rifle. Mine has around 30 000 rounds through it and I never had a bit of trouble until I started cleaning it regularly (at about 20 000 rnds).

Certain parts are getting scarce like the triggers. They seem to be the weak point (wear out) but U.S. suppliers seem to have all the other parts if needed.

PM me if you need more help.

I have a guess based on experience:

I like the Squires Binghams, but they do have an achilles heel. The aluminum trigger!

If you've removed the trigger group, take the whole thing down, and make certain other component are not too worn to engage.

Also make certain the bottom of your bolt isn't chipped.

Disassembly/Reassembly is the easiest way to break 'em. Affix your trigger group, then put the bolt in the rifle. MAke certain to pull the reset lobe out of the way to get the bolt in properly.

Posting detailed pics of what you have will help troubleshooting the issue.

Word of caution. Squires Bingham like spring-loaded ball bearings! Disassemble with caution, or you'll be on your hands n' knees lookng for parts (or blinded by flying bits).

OP - Ask us how we know :) :)

Camster, I should prob send you a pm, but I'll ask here. It's quicker.

My m1600 mag won't release after a dump. It's fine if I shoot at a slower speed. After a mag dump I have to turn it belly up and stick a screw driver in to release the mag.

Ever see this? And do you maybe have a magazine catch? I think it's just getting rounded off a bit or sticks too far into the mag so the normal travel/pivot is not enough to free the mag.

Not too sure about your issues Yogi. Magazine related issues I have encountered in the SB's, but usually not related to how it was fired...
