Army Run - Ottawa - Sept 21

Is anyone doing the Army Run this year? I started getting ready for it as I thought it would be great to support the run and would also help me get through Service Conditions matches :)

Registration opens later on today.

Oh, never heard of it before...but I was planning on seeing if I could do a marathon this year. I planned to just run around Edmonton, but this Army Run could work as well. I'll see if I can get something lined up.

Have you done this one before?

Maybe I'm looking in all the wrong places, but what is the "race kit"? It mentions shirts, numbered bibs, and tracking chips, but is that it?

I haven't done the run before but my girlfriend has ran in it several times.

I just registered for the 5K and it looks like you get a numbered bib with a tracking chip and a long sleeved technical t-shirt. I believe they are produced by the running room and have a cadpat pattern on them. I have seen similar shirts at Canex.
 
Hmm, I wonder if we could arrange some kind of CGN get-together before or after this. Or pool together to divide up accomodation costs.

I'm so tempted to register for the half marathon. If I'm going all the way to Ottawa I might as well go big, right?
 
I did this run 2 years ago. Made for a fun weekend. Great run through Ottawa streets, bridges, canal. Very scenic.
Kids really enjoyed climbing all over the army vehicles.
My only regret was not taking advantage of the combat simulator.
And going to sfrc since I was in the neighbourhood.
 
Whelp, registered for the half-marathon...now I just need to actually figure out how I'm going to run that far without dying.
