Ok so I am still new kinda new to the 1911 I added a new trigger and new sear spring the damn hammer wont work correct it cocks to half #### as normal... At full #### I can push it up right back to half ####

I watched a few assembly videos aabout 100 times so I am no dummy to the take down and it all seems to be correct

The aftermarket trigger is a STI and its going into a colt series 70 could this be the problem they told me it would fit were they wrong???

I am about 5 secs away from throwing it all into a box and shipping both my 1911`s to armco but I would like to figure this out on my own

I would not dream of attempting the installation of any aftermarket part unless a 1911 shop manual was at hand.

But that's me.

You can buy the manual(s), install it yourself, and you'll have gained some understanding. You'll have the manual, you'll have done-it-yerself, and it'll still be cheaper than sending it out. Your local public library might get you the manuals for nothing.

Or you can just send it out..and wait...and wait...and wait.

OK try and measure everything with a caliper and see what you got
(compare old trigger vs new STI)
I've installed many triggers in 1911 and never had a problem (recommend Dlask or Fusion triggers)...
I always adjust a little the push angle (where contact sear) or file the trigger arms edges, but nothing special.

so then it must be the way the sear is sitting or something or when the hammer goes in

I will take some pics so you can decide what I am doing wrong

Put the old parts back in. Can you do that without the shop manual? Thought so. Does it work?
You can download the manual, so do that too.
Edit: The manual has inspection checklists for hammer and sear, that is worth a look. I wouldn't consider it unmanly to seek professional help in fitting a sear/hammer/disconnector.

Sear before install.... Correct???

Sear when installed.... Correct???

Both triggers measure the same except the back of the STI is longer towards the back but the arms are the same

I got it the sear spring was poping out but there is a new issue... The ambi safty is not working now.. It feels stiff and wont lock into place... I allmost want to sell both these 1911,s and buy another sig and be done with them both at this point.. worked on this thing for over 7 hours now I give up its going to be shipped out and done by someone who knows the 1911

The 1911 trigger basically has two parts, the "bow" and the "shoe".

The shoe is the the part of the trigger that your finger actually touches. The bow is the "arm" part.

The bow on your new trigger looks much longer than the original one. I'm not sure why, I've installed new triggers on some of my 1911's and never had any type of variance.
