AR's-Restricted/Non-restricted

Just what is and what isn't restricted?

What versions of the"AR" are restricted and what are non? What is the criteria that determines this? Am looking to purchase a Bushmaster or other similar rifle,but would prefer non-restricted. What are my options?

AR-15 and all variants are ALL restricted.

Only thing close that is not (but it's not an AR) is the XCR.
