Article on the 10 Gauge

I spent years looking for a particular AYA O/U 10g. Found a nearly mint one on ####### then the guy got banned for telling off the admin before I got his contact info. I have since moved on but damn did I ever want that shotgun.

I've been kinda looking for a AyA sxs 10ga ejector. Seems the Spanish made the most of the 10ga doubles

Of reasonable quality from what I know as well. I haven't had any opportunity to handle one unfortuantely. I wanted that O/U badly enough to buy online. I am sure it would have been a total beast but it is hard to beat the range and payload of a 10!

I was just talking about 10 gauge guns at the LGS.

The feel of a SP-10 is amazing. Not much plastic or alloy there.

A 2.5 oz load of pretty much anything through a 10 ga is absolutely deadly.

I have a Patternmaster choke in mine and it smashes geese at ranges longer than I wanna shoot.

Still have my AYA 10ga Mag, SxS. Actually, this one is my 2nd. I foolishly sold the 1st but I did luck out somewhat. This one is basically the same but with MUCH nicer wood. I'll have to get into reloading for it with some form of non lead shot like bismuth. At present, it patterns beautifully tight with the likes of Federal Premium so I don't want to touch the chokes.

I’d like to get my hands on a nice 10g sxs at some point, but given that I rarely use the 10g that I have, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense at the moment.

I have a Browning Gold Light 10 that I absolutely love using. Even though its 9.5lbs, it fits and swings so nicely for me. It only gets used for pass shooting during the early goose season. Its actually crazy how well a 10g can drop a goose dead at a distance, but admittedly, a distance more than I usually feel comfortable shooting at.

Yes, the feel of the SP-10 is amazing and it's been a long time since I've shot one. Might have to change that haha.

I shoot a 42” barrelled 10ga water Fowler from 1875 with a 3.5” chamber loaded with BP. It’s absolute death. Destroys everything it hits. Very stout kick with the 42” barrel and a very tight choke. Going to do up some bismuth loads for geese this year.

Wow, 42 inch barrel, that’s bordering on punt gun territory.
