Do you wish to torture me ? Well, you just did :D.

Interesting how the Luger has a unit marking considering 1916 is generally considered the year when the Germans stopped unit marking equipment.

I am quite envious of your arty luger, treat her well :).

Nabs,

Yes unit marking generally ceased in 1916.

It is really unusual that the stock iron is also marked with the same unit marking as the pistol but it is not serial number matching to the pistol.

The pistol is serial numbered 6237m. (Dated 1917)
The stock iron is serial numbered 5411h.

The same WURTTEMBERG unit marking 122.R.4.6. appears on both the pistol and the stock iron.

Most interesting, looks like they picked the stock and matched the set regardless of serial number. Perhaps the original matching piece was lost ?

any story behind the set and how it came to canada and you in particular ?
