57 mm, tank shell.
is there a significant difference between the naval 6 pounders and the ww2 era 6 pounder ATG?@ Grizzly
That particular 57mm is from one of the guns aboard the A7Vs that fought at Villers-Bretonneux. The guns were Naval in origin, same as the 6-pdr Hotchkiss guns on our Tanks.
OUR Tanks (the good ones) had 6-pdr naval guns which fired a 57mm projectile.
The BAD Tanks (A7V) had 57mm naval guns which fired 6-pound projectiles.
See?
All the difference in the world!
.
BTW, primer in that one is DEFINITELY fired.

You do not have SHELLS. You have Cases. Shells are the objects that come out of the end of the barrel when fired, and if you are very close when they land, it can spoil your whole day.
