I don't get the bushmaster ref??
But the importer for canada is working on a non restricted model.
But looking At next shot show at the earliest.
As a factor semi auto now exists. It all depends on the commitment of the importer to make it happen.
We all know it will sell well it it happens!

It cannot be classed restricted, except based on barrel length or as a variant of a named restricted (is it based on anything currently named restricted?). That leaves non-restricted or prohibited, based on technical features and RCMP paranoia/classification games.

I believe they are filling Italian army orders at present, so all production is going to that.

That makes sense. As much as I'd jump at the chance for an ARX-160, I think best case scenario at this point is probably towards the end of 2013. With the classification process, I think a more realistic scenario is probably mid-2014. Just in time to enjoy it before the NDP confiscates it in 2015.

It is the RCMP, if they want to make it restricted..they will find a way.

God it's ugly. Why do Italians have to make everything so garish. I'm holding my breath for the Remington ACR or 805 Bren

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Those that have actually handled it said the ergonomics are great, and it's very balanced. Besides, polymer... ceramics... fully ambidextrous... 2-second barrel change... what's not to like?

No, they won't. There is no provision in law for them to classify a new gun as restricted, aside from barrel length or as a variant of an already named restricted. They can declare it prohibited, though, and they have played fast and loose with that on a number of occasions.

Or they can just let it sit in limbo for a few years. No rush...

Yep, just this. Put it in a position where they "can't figure out how to classify it", and then just let it sit. The RCMP know darned well the SCAR would pass every test to not fire full auto, so they're just keeping it in limbo, or else they'd have to classify it as restricted by barrel length only. (and then when someone gets an 18.5+ barrel - non restricted)

SO it'll keep sitting there until someone with enough power tells them otherwise. Or at least until the business that did it gives up on them.

Yep, that's why most of us who'd pre-ordered a SCAR have long since bailed.

As i have said before, factory semi auto,s have allready been made, not a CA or a proto but real deal factory semi autos, all thats needed is to make a longer bbl
so its just production time.

the more i see of this beretta, the more i want it. gonna cost a pretty penny for one though.

i have two concerns with this rifle. first concern is the charging handle. to me it dosnt look large enough. also i am concerned that with it being able to pivot back and forth for the ambi there is a possibility that it could break off altogether. potential achillie's heal so to speak.

number two concern is the mag release on the bottom of the trigger guard. i would hate to accidently bump it and have the mag pop out. it looks like a rather large button to me. persoannly i think the two on the sides are more then enough. other then these two trivial complaints im thinking beretta is doing a bang up job.

also can someone point me to a link that shows a complete field strip of this rifle? i want to see the bolt and internals specifically. i did a quick search but came up empty. i wonder if this thing can fire folded as well. im guessing probally not.
