As a Retailer of Sport Optics and You Could Only Have One Brand ,What Would That Be ?

Why are people that aren't that even commenting?

Sorry my bad as I really was asking non dealers (I guess I should have made that more defined). I am really interested what normal consumers would see as a good all round product line when only one manufacturer could be considered. Most optics lines are sold with around a 25-30 % mark up with usually less % mark up for higher end product. Phil.

Are the Leupold line hard to get any stock of right now? Again, what I hear, with no direct experience in the matter.

Or is that basically across all brands because of supply demand and supply issues of parts from the last 2 years? Seems like these are recurring themes everywhere.

Unless you choose a brand that covers the entire gamut of rifle optic uses, you will lose customers. I haven’t found the cost/features matrix supports Leopold. Vortex is probably the way to go. Hating Vortex is like hating F150s.

I find this to be an interesting thread as I think it's very difficult to find what customers want without having too much stock on hand. I have had a number of different brads of scope and by no means a pro on my idea of what is better than others although but I very much like the Weaver Grand Slam (old school). :)

Agree with emerson. The more bases covered the better for consumers and retailers. Having actually owned numerous Vortex optics without any problems(and actually using them) I think they’ve covered the bases from entry to top tier.

I think it’d be difficult as a retailer to carry just one brand. But if you did, I’d pick the one with the best availability. It doesn’t matter how many scopes a brand has in their lineup if you can’t get them for your customers.

Vortex as you can cover almost the entire spectrum of rifle scopes (hunting, tactical, long range etc.) and you get from cheap to slightly below alpha glass in pretty much every category.

Warranty is also easy to deal with in Canada.

I am out of the "gun" business after 54 years in it... I stopped selling scopes 10 years ago.

I would have to say Leupold and Bushnell would be two choices that have served well and are still good today.
