As I age I find myself switching shotguns

As I age I do find myself becoming more discerning about my shotgun utility use.
For example, several of you may or may not be aware that I am a severe Ithaca enthusiast.
And as I use these upland game/slug guns in the field, I find myself leaning towards longer barreled versions with the proper choke as my often first priority. Yeah, it's funny that my longest pokes have been with the 20 gauge M37 & a dismountable M87 fully rifled barrel, and a Turkeyslayer with small shot. Yes, I do have a few DSPS's and a regular Deerslayer, but they are mostly my designate slug guns 99.9% of the time. I wish I had a wealth of large buckshot experience, but I find scant use for it in my current endevours. And no matter what gauge chosen, it seems to me that a 28" plain barreled, (insert favorite shotgun here) with a modified choke is the ultimate multi-use shotgun IMO.
With steel friendly removeable chokes as an option perhaps?

I think I made my point nicely, without ruffling feathers that is............haha I made a funny......;)

Brutus, every Ithica I have ever seen has been uggerly in my eyes.
But, as they say "Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder" and will not hold that against you.
I agree, the 28inch barrel with modified choke will and does handle more situations than any zombie slayer ,
informal trap games or in the five stand as well.
Shootem if you got them and shoot them often !

I still remember when I was young there was a native man hunting birds for dinner (prarie chickens) He blasted 2 shots out of a side by side missed both rounds shot very quickly the bird flew away. There was another one sitting on the tree so I pointed it out he missed at 20 yards it also flew away. I saw 1 more bird in another tree so I picked up a stick since he was out of ammo and threw it at the bird and killed it. He ran to the bird picked it up right away I thought it was 1 of the funniest things ever I mean how hard is it to miss a bird at 10-20 yards that's sitting still and pretending it doesn't see you. (they're such a dumb bird) When you drive down the road they walk in front of the car and at the last second pop there head up and get it knocked off by the bumper. It seemed like the man was in a rush to get the bird and get home that might of been why he missed 4 rounds at non moving birds.
