I gotta thank farmboy, it was a blast.
I was up Sunday afternoon with Farmboy for an afternoon bowhunt, and after we decided where we were going, we headed out.
I didnt realize, I would have entertainment all afternoon in my stand. :mrgreen:
I was about 175 yard off of the 404 highway wondering what the hell I was doing there. But as we walked in, you could see the meadow was pounded with deer tracks. Farmboy dropped me off in the first tree stand, and continued around to the Winter wheat field.
I cut a few shooting lanes, and settled in.
6:30 on the button, the meadow in front of me erupts in flags.
Deer going everywhere. (He said they went through here, but not at mach 5 :shock: )
So I whistled, and they kept going, Grunted, and they kept going. I was frustrated, and yelled "####ers", and a big Doe stopped on the hill about 45 yards away.
I pulled up on her, and all of a sudden the brush under me blew up.
A deer going mach 5 underneath my stand :shock: :shock:
I reached down with my crossbow, and nearly put the stirrup to the back of its head, and pulled the trigger.
It only went as far as the front flip it did took it :lol: .
I looked up, and the Doe was still standing there. I pulled my Xbow back, and loaded, but figured they were going around to farmboy Anyway.
Unfortunately they put the sneak on us before they got to him.
But we got some good meat anyway.
One good buck fawn down, and a few more tags to fill.
It was one of the most comical shots I've ever taken, I wish I had my Video Camera.
