Turkey season starts on Monday I may meet you in the woods. The first thing most hunters like to introduce them selves as is DO YOU HAVE PERMISSION TO HUNT HERE.

If you meet me in the woods I will have permission to hunt there(and about 150 more farms) you are most likely are a new hunter to the area stupid enough to think you are the only one who has permission to hunt there.

I know one farm who will have up to 8 hunters (100 acres) on it opening day,but they all think they are the only ones there, good luck to them on opening morning.

To wrap this up if you see a fellow hunter in the woods this turkey season lets start by saying hello hows the hunting going and all you who don't know how to address some one try starting with Hello.

Ps To the two stupids that go through the roosting area looking for turkey the night before the season opener, wonder why you didn't get one opening morning?

PS Hope to see the area roost shooter this year,it would be cheaper to buy a Turkey just a thought.

Well, aren't you the pleasant sort. I'm wondering how you made it to 1,000 posts and this is the first one I have seen. Hope they all haven't been this vitriolic.

If I see you in the Woods I know you don't have permision to hunt "my" properties. If you have permission to hunt 150 farms I commend you on your persuasiveness, you must be showing the farmers a side of you we have never seen going by your above post, also if you have access to that much property why hunt where there is the possibility of running into someone?

I don't hunt in Russell ,it is the new hunters who think they are the only ones hunting there,be assured if I ran into you in the bush the first thing I would say would be hello. Like every one else you hunt were the turkeys are.I think you have missed the point.

I can understand what CROWCA is saying.

When I go out fishing, when I see another person, I say "Hi, how are you?" or something of the sorts. Even on small brook streams out in the middle of nowhere, if I happen to cross another person or angler, its always a polite hello.

I have on several occasions been accused of trespassing on crown land, by hunters who feel that because they have hunted there for the past 30 years it somehow means that they are the only ones who hunt there.

Somehow the comraderie of hunters has been placed on the backburner in place of "me, mine, and not yours".

I here you CROWCA... We have lots of farms to hunt as well and not always exclusive access. I too have been told to get off of crown land because "we hunt here".

We always say hi too. Nice to see others still do the same.

I got permission from 6 new farms for turkey hunting this spring. 2 of them already had people that will be turkey hunting it, Soon as he told me that I said " Well Thanks a lot for giving me permission, but I wouldn't want to piss off the other hunters so I'll pass"

not to mention its dangerous as #### walking in the dark on a new property and maybe the other guys will already be sitting there and not know i have permission as well.

was hard to do because there was about 7 big toms out strutting about 100 yards from the house. lol

Show up early, I find the guys around here see birds then set up right where they see them around noon when they are on their lunch breaks. I normally try to find a feeding area away from the strutting area or wait until the other guys leave for work and set up where the turkeys spend their afternoons.
