Assault Weapon Ban: 10/22 Banana Mag. Availability

I just noticed that the new ten round magazine limit for semiautomatic rifles in the proposed United States assault weapon ban would include rimfire magazines. Unlike Canada, new production banana mags. would be illegal.

How do you guys think this would effect us here in Canada? What occurred during the last assault weapons ban? Did American companies still make banana mags for Canada or did they stop production all together.

The first butler creek mag I purchased a couple months ago was returned since the feed lips would catch on the bolt. I'm regretting not keeping it and filing the feed lips.

I noticed that Wanstalls already bumped their butler creek magazine price to $50

My concern is that the 10/22 mags are different than AR mags. People would never even buy pinned banana mags since the regular rotary Ruger mags are cheaper. There wouldn't even be a reason for manufacturers to build banana mags.

If Obama pulls off half of what he thinks he can....... Canada should welcome the newly legislated out of business manufacturers north!
It would be easier for Obama and who ever else wants to control things if it was all imported from Canada eh.
