Alright, here's the story. I sent e-mails to my MP, MPP, the O.P.P., the Ombudsman and the Minister of public safety. The main topic of my e-mail was the different answers I was getting from various agents, and why some applications were processed much faster than others. I indicated that I understand the need for regulations and that I was in no hurry, and questioned these varied results and delays.
My MPP did nothing, didn't even acknowledge my e-mail.
The O.P.P. forwarded my inquiry to the CFO.
The Ombudsman phoned me and told me that he had contacted the CFO and that they were to send me an e-mail with their reply.
I had some communications with an officer from the CFO, with whom I gave a complete rundown of my story so far, all the details.
While at my MP's office, an assistant helped me, I believe they have a contact at the CFC. While the assistant was on the phone with them, they found my application in the pile, and said that they still needed the exam results from the CFO. She then contacted the CFO and they found my exam results, faxed it to my MP's office the next day, who then faxed it to the CFC.
Now my application was in progress. When it was sent back to the CFO I called to make sure there were no issues with it. A very nice lady there told me that the CFO had some quick questions to ask me. I asked if I could speak to them at that moment, and she cheerfully transferred me. I answered the questions and explained to the officer that I was in no particular hurry, but was wondering if my application would be approved. She then said yes, but my 28 day wait was still in progress (it will be 28 days tomorrow). She then told that me my card would be in the mail when the waiting period finished. I then expressed my gratitude for her assistance and got the hell off the phone before I had a chance to screw anything up.

Everyone has to wait the min 28 days. Seems like you were being difficult.

Difficult? If by that you mean I was polite and expressed my gratitude to everyone I dealt with and told them that I had no problem with the mandated waiting period, then yes, I was difficult.
Did I say anywhere that I had an issue the waiting period?

Alright, here's the story. I sent e-mails to my MP, MPP, the O.P.P., the Ombudsman and the Minister of public safety.

And I just waited my 28 days.....no emails to my MP,MPP, OPP, ombudsman, minister of public safety, or my mother.....

Hope you showed them who the boss is!

Yeah. What a prick I am to make the government actually do something for me for a change. We should all just sit and wait patiently, they will eventually do the right thing and get their s**t together.

I actually have nothing against the 28 day waiting period. I know it sucks when you are waiting for your card so you can get some toys though.

Sometimes you need to know when to sit and wait patiently and when to stand up.

I could see you calling if your card was not issued in a reasonable time after your wait period was up but....

Why do you think I have an issue with the waiting period? To quote my post:

Not once did I give anyone a "put me to the front of the line" attitude.

i had to wait 4 months

Heh..get in line. They lost me exam results for 1 whole month , then they somehow managed to find them. The I had to deal with the whole me being separated and them needing to contact my ex who's in another continent to the best of my knowledge ,thing.........all said and done it took almost a whole year.

I would have waited the 4 weeks before inquiring......and then do what you did - but perhaps not to the extent that you did it. Call the CFO and get the lowdown from them and move forward appropriately.

I think you just "jumped the gun" so to speak.

My .02

P.S. - You're going to get members agreeing with you and disagreeing - I know I have a few times - but that's what makes this such a great place to share. Everyone shares and takes what works for them - and leaves the other sh*t behind.

Why do those i Ontario have to have their exam results scrutinized by the CFO?

Prickly Pete,
I'm with you on this one, I’m not quite sure what’s with all the assumptions from Cndcombatmedic...maybe he is reading different comments than I am reading!
Nowhere did I read you had an issue with the waiting times, or did you seem to be difficult.
I can understand asking question to many people if I am getting conflicting information. What exactly is being difficult with that?

Just my two cents

Thanks. That is exactly what I was asking. Your 2 cents is worth millions.

I simply thought it was the right thing to do. It was good advice which I gained from this forum, which I appreciate.
Armourall: You are correct, agreeing and disagreeing are all part of free speech. Thanks.

I'm curious: Does anyone else have a problem with what I did?
Not me. You availed yourself of an opportunity to move your application along. Why not take it if it is there? The only question is whether you will actually get your PAL any faster than you would otherwise due to the waiting period.
