Hello,

I was given a muzzleloader marked "Thomas Thomson Aberdeen" but can't seem to find much on it.

Is anyone familiar with the name?

Thanks,

Matt

Found this through an IGC (Internet Gun Club) search:

Given Names

First name/s: Thomas

Surname: Thomson

First Address: 74 Union Street (1 Exchange Street)

City/Town: Aberdeen

County: Aberdeenshire

Area: Scotland

Country: United Kingdom
Other Addresses:

68 Union Street
Information

Trade: Gunmaker

Dates: 1837-1884

Notes:

Established in 1837 at 74 Union Street, Aberdeen, he took additional premises in 1859 at 1 Exchange Street. In 1862 these were vacated. In 1884 he moved to 68 Union Street. He was not recorded after that date.

Birmingham proof marks on the barrel? Thomson is more likely to have retailed the gun than made it.
The ramrod is a replacement, and striped ones are out of place on a British gun.
