Astra 400 Mag Interchangability

Hi, guys!

I have just become the owner of an Astra 400; it was the only thing at the auction that was ugly enough to share shelf space with my beloved 1911 Steyr so it came home.

I HAVE 9x23 brass, so no problems there.

What I am concerned about is the availability of magazines for this critter. It came with just ONE. But I am told that these mags could be used in the Destroyer Carbines and, although there are no Astra 400 mags running around loose, there do seem to be Destroyer Carbine Mags available.

What I am asking is this: was this a valid 'swap-them-out' (pistol and carbine mags interchangeable) or was this a 'one-way' interchangeability (pistol mags into Carbines, Carbine mags orphans)?

I remember when they were on the market, never thought I would own one. They sold for more than a week's pay, and I was still in high school.

I have both the 400 and the Destroyer. The two mags are not interchangeable. I had to find a 400 mag in the US, and didn't really have any trouble doing so. They're nifty old guns. Good luck with yours.

Do you have any thoughts on what to load for this brute...... apart from lots of it
