At the Range with my Mosin.

Well I was finally able to get out to the Range today for a bit with my Mosin and I must say what a fun Rifle to shoot, You will have to bear with me as I am not very experienced zeroing in a Scope and I was shooting high and to the left as evident by the Pic but after awhile and many adjustments later...lol my last few shots were right on or near the bullseye @100 Yds. Not to bad for a 1929 Old War Horse and the S & K Mount and Long eye relief Scope that I put on it worked great... stayed nice and tight.

Well done...you just need some more trigger time with that thing...I've had mine 0'd for a while with the S&K and thought i'd just give you the heads up that my set screws for windage on the mount did come loose. the scope and mount itself never moved but one of the windage screws actually fell onto the table at the range. there are 2 different kind of mounts they make and I went with the non-weaver style. I guess i'll be blue loctiting them in.

Good to know I will keep an eye out for that...Agreed I need to get out more often up till now I have been using DNR Ranges so I only get out once in awhile but I think I will start checking out some Gun Clubs near Halifax so hopefully I can get out more often...The Mosin worked flawlessly and I could not have been more happy with it, not sure why I never bought one of these sooner.

I looked at those ones but the few I looked at seemed to be a little rough but they may have others in better shape ... I ordered mine from SFRC but I purchase my Ammo from the Army Navy Store. You will love the Mosin they have a nice kick....:D

Nice rifle, and aren't they a treat to shoot? I have a 1938 Izhevsk and she'll hit a 10" gong at 100yds all day long using iron sights and russki surplus ammo. For the whole experience take her out to your favorite crown land shooting spot in mid january. You have to shoot Mosin-Nagants in the snow.

Thanks Langet, Agreed taking her out in the Winter Months would be nice maybe try her out at longer distances I think there are a few Ranges near Halifax that are over 100 Yds. I could not believe how nice the Weather was yesterday...Mid October and I can still wear Shorts and T-Shirt to the Range......lol
 

They are capable of vg accuracy with a ex bore.All my hexs shoot this well and any of the round receivers we selected cut under 3" at 100 yards.With open sights.Even the wartime roughly finished 42-43 Ishy's were cutting 1.5 "........Harold

I was very surprised how accurate a Mosin is...I am a true believer and I have a feeling I had better clear out some more space in my Safe for more Mosins.....lol
