at what point should I start annealing?

Hi all,

As I am getting more comfortable with reloading and getting better and better results at the range for long range precision, how far along my progress should I start thinking annealing cases, or if at all? There is so much different websites mentioning different times, but I would rather ask here and get a straight up answer.

You could go all in and buy a force gauge to measure bullet seating resistance.....
I anneal after 4 firings for Lapua brass, every 3 for other brands.

I have 4 five gallon buckets of .223/5.56 brass and none of it ever gets annealed.

Any firearm that throws perfectly good brass away and makes you go looking for it, in my opinion doesn't deserve special treatment.

And at my age with chronologically gifted eyesight and the start of a cataracts annealing for a AR15 rifle is the last thing on my mind.

And on the flip side of this at accurateshooter.com there is someone complaining about his Lupua brass he is firing out of his AR15.

He has a over gassed AR15 yanking on his case rims and distorting them and shooting hot loads with "Lapua Brass"

Bottom line, I can buy once fired Lake City 5.56 for a fraction of the cost of new brass so why bother annealing cases fired in a AR15.

And because I'm in my "Golden Years" I have to wear "cheater" clip on sunglasses to shoot any iron sighted firearm.

Thats why I hang out in a Canadian forum, I keep hoping one of you Canadians will invent braille sights or laser guided bullets made out of duct tape. :evil:
