Do these drop free from a Tavor? I know P mags don't.

Thanks
Moe

Good question.
We have feedback from some Tavor owners that say yes they do drop free no problem and others that say no they do not. Possibly it has something to do with which version and where the gun was made?
I would suggest if a Pmag does not, ours will not either so stick to metal mags.

I had mine out with my XCR-L last outing, I have three of the ATRS mags, one of them had the first two rounds loaded jamming and wouldn't let the follower lift. It happened twice to where I could take the mag out of my gun and shake the bullets out of the magazine. I didn't do much more shooting that day but my other two mags worked flawlessly. I am trying to get out to test more and isolate it to that one magazine. I will update this post when I can.

I'm curious, has anyone else experienced this? Or an isolated incident?

I'm wanting to pick up some 10rd mags. However I keep my mags loaded at home for quick range trips and in case the worst happens..."Hi RCMP, don't worry their not in the gun "

A friend of mine had this happen this past weekend in his AR at a 3-Gun match. One mag did pretty much the same thing, so he went back to LAR/PMags for the rest of the match. He is going to test them out on the bench to be sure it wasn't something he did.

Leaving any polymer mag loaded can be a problem as the pressure put onto the feed lips "can" cause distortion. Pmags come with a cap that is intended to reduce this problem, so might be your best bet if leaving you mag loaded all the time is something you feel is necessary as our mags do not have the "cap".

Bought 2 FDE and 2 Black, put 500+ rounds PMC green tips thru them, mags fed flawlessly. The 4 I bought, none drop free, even with alot of sanding down. Tried in 3 different AR lowers, same result, no biggie, love the 10 rounds.
I have also noticed that the feed lip area is very thin and flexes quite a bit, but time will tell.
Maybe future generations can have stronger polymer or metal insert like Lancer maqs.

Interesting. Thanks for the reply.

Hey all......
Looking for clarification:
Live in eastern ON
Have XCR-L
Have LAR-15's
Can I use these LAR's or ATRS versions loaded with 10 while woodchuck or yote hunting?
This bulletin is not easily interpreted by me.
Any help/clarification would be much appreciated.
Bod

What's up with mine? I bought them couple weeks ago at Red Deer shooting centre. They do not drop free from an aero lower. They have to be shoved in and yanked out. Way too tight

Where'd you get the FDE? They show out of stock.

If they are out of fde Red Deer shooting centre had them last time I was there and show a quantity available on website. Not plugging another company but I'm sure atrs does not care as they are their mags anyway

Hunting and Sport shooting regulation are different so your best bet is to search the MNR website for clarification.

As already stated, the MNR is your best source to confirm....but yes, you can. The only restriction in Ontario for capacity is for birds (migratory). Everything else is based on Federal magazine capacities.

Thanks Gents,
Below is from 2016-17 Ontario hunting regulations:

"Under the Criminal Code of Canada you cannot possess any clip/magazine that holds more than five shots for a semi-automatic centrefire non-restricted firearm unless that clip/magazine has been specifically exempted, pursuant to the federal regulations."

So....it appears that I can use 10

Just to be sure I will a carry a printed copy of bulletin # 72

Take care,
Bod

So are these legal? Anybody had any interaction or discussion with police officers in regard to these?
My issue is that section 4 of the bulletin (that they provide in the original post) states "Magazines designed for one firearm but used in a different firearm", but these mags are actually designed for 5.56. They even have a 5.56 stamp on it. Therefore they are designed for use with 5.56. Would that cause any confusion or any issues when trying to explain it to law enforcement? Im simply curious.

These magazines were designed and manufactured for the AT15 pistol.
Has nothing to do with caliber only the firearm they are designed for
