It's not that easy, some shotguns (factory made to less than 660mm other than semi) are restricted and some are not restricted, it's seem that the RCMP FRT lab is doing whatever they want depending on the flavor af the day.
.
Is it compatible with most 870 parts? Have you tried swapping out the forend?
Skateboard tape, textured paint, or a spray on rock guard/truck bed application may be an alternative to spending more money. Any of those would provide sufficient grip on the forend.
They care just a 're branded Turkish shotguns, there are 5 plus brands being sold in Canada now, its the same gun .
I'd send it back with those makes. Looks like its been in display and banged up or not boxed well when shipped.
all that aside, these Turkish shotguns are way better made then norinco.
Great value force price. We have started making a full line of accessories for these guns.
I'd rather buy made in China than made in Turkey.
On what basis?
Politics aside, I think both countries are capable of making decent shotguns and complete crap. I briefly owned a Chinese Dominion Ams Backpacker and a Turkish Warrior Backpacker, both of which were complete junk and unsafe in my opinion. Both were returned to the vendor who sold them. My NEF Survivor may have cost twice as much as the previously mentioned junk guns but it is 10 times the shotgun.
