ATA Etro Shotgun - Mini Review

It's not that easy, some shotguns (factory made to less than 660mm other than semi) are restricted and some are not restricted, it's seem that the RCMP FRT lab is doing whatever they want depending on the flavor af the day.

.

So grab what you can when you can. Bury it in the woods if you have to and when they come for them ... well, you know the rest.

Yup, looks like a typical Turkish tactical shotgun flooding the market since Hatsan convinced everyone these guns sell well, and have been standing up to regular.
I've found Hatsans to still be the best of the bunch, even though they are all related, design wise.

Is it compatible with most 870 parts? Have you tried swapping out the forend?

No, it does not look like there is much parts interchange-ability. I know that S&J makes an adapter to fit an 870 Magpul rear stock to Turkish shotguns (I expect it would work on the ATA, but have not confirmed). I will be trying to replace the forend on mine, since it is so smooth that I can't keep a firm grip on it while firing (the shotgun jumps out of my hand) I will let you know if an 870 forend fits...

Skateboard tape, textured paint, or a spray on rock guard/truck bed application may be an alternative to spending more money. Any of those would provide sufficient grip on the forend.

They care just a 're branded Turkish shotguns, there are 5 plus brands being sold in Canada now, its the same gun .
I'd send it back with those makes. Looks like its been in display and banged up or not boxed well when shipped.
all that aside, these Turkish shotguns are way better made then norinco.
Great value force price. We have started making a full line of accessories for these guns.

I'd rather buy made in China than made in Turkey.

Politics aside, I think both countries are capable of making decent shotguns and complete crap. I briefly owned a Chinese Dominion Ams Backpacker and a Turkish Warrior Backpacker, both of which were complete junk and unsafe in my opinion. Both were returned to the vendor who sold them. My NEF Survivor may have cost twice as much as the previously mentioned junk guns but it is 10 times the shotgun.

Tom E Gun, did you ever fit the 870 forend onto the Etro tactical?

Managed to handle one of these ATA ETRO 8's and gotta say it's much nicer in hand than in pictures.

Handy little tool.

I have changed my pistol grip from this:

to this (click on thumbnail to enlarge):

I haven't shot it with the shoulder stock installed, but it seems solid and well made.
