ATF Form 6

Wondering whether anyone who has applied in the new year, 2026, has received their approved documents yet. I emailed mine on January 5th and no news so far.

No I haven't applied for a few years now as I don't travel to the US to shoot anymore, seems wierd though as mine used to take a week at most, I know a couple people that regularity attend the fall grand in Tucson, they didn't go this year because their ATF - 6N1A form never got approved in time.

Interesting, last year I had mine inside of a month but I haven't bothered applying this year because I'm not sure if I'm able to go.

I'm guessing a bit slower because of Christmas holidays etc. Took about 3 weeks just before Xmas.

I applied for one and had it back in around 3 weeks.

Applied Dec 23, had it back Jan 10.

did one in September it took 3 months that was because of the government shut down. You can give them a call to find out the status

I'm waiting as well. Submitted Jan 8th.

But I know a couple others who submitted a day or week after me, and they got theirs back already. A bit weird, considering they say they process them in the order they are received.

Edit: a day later, mine came back. So a little over 3 weeks.

I've been anywhere from 8 days to 3 months to get my approvals in years past. I usually apply May now every year, as it seems like their slow period. Good for 12 Months

Update .......... I had submitted my application Jan 5, 2026. Today, Feb 5, I sent ATF an email to request confirmation that they had actually received my application and that it was in process for approval. Got immediate automated response saying it could take up to 90 days. Initially, I was a little disappointed, but 2 hours later I received by email my duly approved Form 6. Oddly, I noticed that it had been stamped & signed as approved on Jan 14...........approx 3 weeks ago !!

They tell you that it could take 90 days but I've never waited that long. I think it's a good idea to follow up in a month if you haven't heard back.
