Athlon Argos BTR FFP vs Vortex diamondback tactical FFP

I myself am buying a Athlon Midas Tac when funds become available. I got to check out one recently and was impressed.
Jerry how does the warranty work on these?

The new turret system in the Athlon Ares ETR and Midas TAC will impress anyone familiar with top tier scopes and how they track.

Yes, they are made in China but so is a huge range of high end/very technical products. The engineering is solid... the manf has been bang on and the results have been superb.

Athough they have the same no brainer lifetime warranty now offered as the first selling feature by some brands, I have not heard of many Athlon scopes going in for repair. As a competitive shooter, I don't want stuff that is prone to failure.

If you prefer Japanese manf, no problem can offer that too but it will be a lot more money.. but if you are ok with that extra investment, give me a PM or email.

Thanks

Jerry

I'll keep that in mind.
Thx

Athlon has just announced a new 34mm Midas TAC 5-25.... will make a great 'tween the 30mm Midas TAC and 34mm Ares ETR with ED glass and a full suite of features.

For LR rimfire, having 32mils to set your zero will come in very handy.

Sorry, missed your post. If you have any issues with an Athlon product, send back to Red Star Target and he will handle the export/import to the US. Turnaround on the very few I have heard about has been quick. sounds like it takes longer with the mail then at the "shop".

US Athlon has been very reactive to customer thoughts and feedback... I like that in this VERY competitive optics climate.

Same no brainer warranty as other brands... but so far, doesn't look like many are taking advantage of it.

Have been using an Argos BTR 6-24x50 for a while now on my T1x 22. I use this for target shooting and lately hunting grouse/rabbits (even though it is set up as a target rifle).

Nice glass for the price. Illuminated reticle is a nice feature for lower light hunting of small game. It holds zero very well when dialing the turrets in/out and back to zero.
They have a zero-stop workaround using shims which works well. Not a true zero-stop turret but good enough (for free effectively).

Only one downside for me:

The marks don't quite line up on mine on the Elevation turret - the turret mark is about half way between the scope marks. Does not bother me enough to send in for warranty but still could be an issue for some.

Sorry to confuse with my question, I am waiting to purchase an Athlon when funds permit it. I just wanted to see how the process would go if something happened to it. Thanks. For digging mojo and Jerry

US prices and they are releasing a updated version.

That was a Canadian price. It equates to the us prices I see converted to CDN. The online site I saw that at appears to be a bit iffy though. Regardless, $500 is my budget and I’m not paying the “Canuck premium”.

Hmm I better look at the specs on that one vs the 4-16. Although it will be much bigger and heavier with the 56 and 34mm.

Let us know how it goes ordering from them.

I'm not. The conditions seemed sketchier than I'm comfortable with. I'll get a Primary Arms 4-14 FFP mildot I think as the price in Canada is comparable to the converted US price and reviews seem just fine. My conscience won't let me buy something that has such a considerable mark-up from the US price (I understand there's a differential but there's also a limit). I understand that dealers here are hamstrung by MAP pricing at times but I won't contribute to that game.

Edit: If I’m not mistaken I can import without issue from Europe? That actually opens up some very interesting possibilities if true.
