Looking for some input/first hand experience between the two of them since they are at the same price point.
Both in FFP/Mil, 4.5-27×50 30mm tube for the Ares BTR, 5-25×56 34mm tube for the Midas TAC.
The Ares BTR is more "fully featured" with illumination and both turrets exposed vs the Midas TAC which the windage turret is capped.
The Midas does have the upper hand in adjustment at 32mil vs 24mil for the Ares.
From what i gathered, the glass is similar on both

Use case: Range only, no competition or hunting
I'm leaning toward the Midas TAC since the illumination isn't a big factor, it is nice, but not needed for me
Which one would go with? What am i missing?

Or, any brand/model i should take a look at in the same price range?

Since you are not hunting with it, I would chose the Midas Tac. I like the reticle better, plus no need for illumination for just target shooting.

If you would like to discuss the pros and cons, please send an email.

Another to add to your list is the Midas TAC 30mm 6-24X50. This fits right in between the 2 scopes you were asking about and less money then both.

A very nice scope and reticle. All 3 share the new turret system and zero stop function which work very well.

On the assumption your range doesn't go to 2000yds, you will find that all have plenty of travel for any centerfire useage. Now if you were looking for a LR rimfire scope then...

Merry Christmas to me! So far it looks really good, can't wait to try it.

Back from the dead

Solved the dilemma by getting another scope, i'm replacing the Vortex Diamondback Tactical on my other rifle with the Ares BTR

Once the ranges start reopening, i'll be able the make a more accurate comparison, but they look like they'll be great.
