So I ordered an ATI Deluxe Heatshield with
ghost ring sights from Marstar, planning to put it onto my Marine Magnum. It looked to be a quick and easy way to get sights onto it.
However, looking at the images of the heatshield from Marstar and the ATI site, it would appear that the heatshield has two tabs that must be folded down to fit the barrel a few inches up from the receiver. And looking at the gun, when the foreend is racked all the way back, there isn't a lot of clearance between the foreend and the barrel at that point. I'm worried that the tabs are going to be too thick and prevent the foreend from travelling all the way back.
I note that the sales blurb on the heatshield states that it fits all shotgun barrels, not all shotguns.
Has anybody had any experience with installing this product on a Marine Magnum? Assuming the worstcase scenario occurs, is anybody able to recommend a gunsmith in the Cornwall, ON area that could install ghosting sights on my gun?
