Nooo you ruined my good mood! Haha, I will talk to Kasey and see what options I have ;P

how do you extend the legs on these units? does that dial turn to loosen/tighten? spring-loaded? something else?

I'm wondering the same thing? I know they have markings, so you know what level you are at... but no idea if spring loaded or easy to get to same place...

Thanks,

Actually the method of extending the legs is awesome and very very user friendly.

You simply grasp the top checkered part of the leg and pull.. to retract you pull down on that top part and it disengages a ball bearing type catch and you can retract the leg.

It is pretty cool because you do a similar thing to fold the legs.

You pull on the top knob part on the leg while pulling it to extend and if you just pull the leg itself without pulling down that knob it disengages the leg and you can fold it. Makes for extending and folding incredibly easy

The legs on the atlas lock in their folded or deployed position unlike the harris which uses tension on the springs to do so.. This eliminates the posibility of the legs folding by accident.

Pretty neat how it retracts, but I guess it isn't spring loaded for extending? I guess you just twist and pull it down till you hit your desired height? Then do the same to the other side? Is it easy to get both sides to have the same height?

Also have you had any issues with it?

I spoke with Kasey at the SHOT show and a very nice guy indeed. I mentioned earlier about not wanting to modify my A-5 to use the bipod. Getting a chance to play with the bipod, I am sold. Very nice. I have a TRG-22 with a factory bipod but he had a TRG 22 stock with an Atlas mounted the same way the factory Sako does. When they are available, I will be getting one for sure. Also a bit off topic but I had my TRG-22 cut down to a 20" barrel. I saw a TRG 22 at the SHOT show with a 20" barrel from the factory, I heard they were available but never saw one until now.

What do you mean when they are available? do you mean the specific mounting method or the bipod in particular?

I was referring to the mounting method.
I ordered the atlas from Kasey too and I will have the 2nd sling stud installed on my mcmillan stock. I also called mcmillan and asked them if getting my gunsmith to install the stud was possible, and mcmillan told me how and what they use, they even sent me the t-nut they use and 2 of the longest studs they have free of charge, what agreat company! Anyways it seems it is very possible to do the modification without any problems.

Did you guys go with ARMS mounting solution or just the two screw solution?

Also can you order direct from the States (Kasey) or is sending bipods over the boarder prohibited?

Also for those of you using a UIT (Anschutz) rail, there is the BT28 AFAR kit as an option, it basically adds a small 1913 std rail for mounting :) This is for those with Steyr SSG 08, AICS/AW (not wanting to use the spigot), Sako TRG, and many, many more!

How long ago did you get it from the States? Every time I call a company that has them, they say no we don't ship to Canada =/

Thanks,

No you dont understand. I didnt buy from a company in the US that carries them. I bought from the guy that builds them. He shipped to me no problem. I got it a few months ago.
