To meld two recent threads into one as each one has triggered my urge to spend.

Which would you go for?

The Atlas bipod or the Sinclair Fclass bipod?

I can't afford the Remple bipod quite yet.

I'm looking for an improved fclass rest over my current el-cheapo pedestal rest. But I also use the gun for range/precision shooting matches/hunting and general backwoods screwing around.

All these additional uses would seem to favour the Atlas. But is the Atlas too much of a trade off for Fclass usage?

I would vote for one but they are totally, completely different.

If you are just doing F-class not going anywhere, then sure, get a sinclair, it is basically a rest that screws onto the gun. I wouldn't really call it a bipod.

Atlas is about as good as it gets for a folding multipurpose and light bipod.

If you take the hunting/backwoods part out then I'd say sinclair, if you want to take it off the bench then get an atlas.

Sinclair.

I'm not fond of having parts that can move attached to my rife when shooting F-Class. Some guys can shoot with them.....I prefer to have a steadier "rest" style bipod.

You didn't get what I was trying to say. I'm agreeing with you

I don't mean literally, of course it is a bipod.

I mean figuratively, the purpose of a bipod is a portable rest that you can take in the field, fold down and shoot away. The sinclair, while an excellent product and by design likely more sturdy than an atlas due to its size and distribution, isn't exactly portable, thus making it better for range or bench shooting.

I am sure he will be using the John Weil made (Rempel Rip-off) bipod now since it is his teammate and all.

Cerikkson...I was just yankin ur chain :)

The one thing I do prefer with the Rempel is the ability to adapt to terrains easily. I have not seen the sinclair in person but it looks to me (from the pics I have seen) that it might be quite a bit of dicking around to get the bipod level if on uneven ground.
