All knowing forum,

Im trying to find a description of how one takes apart the ATRS magazines. I love mine and they have given me flawless function, but after 4 3guns, a bunch of CQB matches and a 2 day carbine course mine are full of sand and seem gritty. Ive tried sliding off the base plate but it seems to hang up. Maybe they are similar to
Glock mags?

Ive read that ultrasonic or dishwasher works but I want to make sure that all the sand is out from under the follower.

I've drilled a small pilot hole with a 5/32" bit in the centre of the base of mine (in the center of the second 'O' in 'BOOM!') so I can depress the base plate keeper.
The base in the centre is quite shallow (around .05" thick) so go slow as you don't want to punch through the base plate keeper.
With this size of hole, I can depress it with the tip of a 5.56 round for disassembly.
Important feature if you need to clean between stages or on the fly in a match.

I think some of them came welded though, so I guess it depends on the type you have.

IIRC, they can't be taken apart. I believe they use stainless springs so you can flush them out with soapy water to clean them without worrying about the springs rusting out on you.

Interesting. Going to have to give this a try, thanks for the info.
